As indicated previously, this series is dedicated to “The Women I Love;” my wife Georgia and our three daughters Michelle, Lori and Amber.
This post will focus on our middle daughter and second born, Lori.
Lori was our first “Jock” in the family and started playing as a youngster. She is still playing in a mixed adult league and has coached her daughters team for several years. Lori our Soccer Mom.
This is Lori at three weeks and then at four months. It was already clear she would be pretty.
Lori is an accomplished flutist and also plays the piano. As you can see from the photos below, she liked music at a very young age, as she clicks her finger to a snappy song playing in the background.
Proud Mommy, Georgia, is holding her here
Here are a couple of shots of our happy little girl, including one with her big sister Michelle.
The first photo below was taken when Lori discovered she could walk. She walked around the front yard for quite a while and enjoyed every minute of it. As you can see, she loved her little Tyke Bike, which she rode a lot.
And like any little girl, she loved riding ponies. We were fortunate that a pony ride facility was only about fifteen minutes away in nearby Chapman Park.
Here is Lori with her big sister and our dog Fluffy, who was a perfect dog for little kids. He put up with so much crap from the kids, but they always had great times together.
Looks like it’s birthday time to me. Of course, Mommy is there to read the card to Lori as daddy snaps this photo for posterity.
Lori is holding her little sister, Amber here. Aren’t they cute.
Here she is on her first day of Kindergarten, then a little later sitting on Santa’s lap with her sister Amber.
One day I noticed Lori asleep on the family room couch and was able to get this shot. I wanted to pick her up and hug her so tight, but she was in dreamland so I didn’t disturb her.
Here is Lori showing off her bubble-blowing skills and then enjoying a ride at Knott’s Berry Farm with her sisters.
One of the best things we ever did was get a swimming pool. I snapped this one just as Lori left the diving board.
Lori is ten and eleven in the soccer photos below. She is growing up fast and her soccer skills are getting very good.
Here, Lori and Amber play a duet at a recital. We have always been so proud of our girls.
Lori is fourteen in this soccer photo, and still has her braces.
Here is a great shot of Lori and her sisters enjoying themselves. I am happy to report that they love each other very much to this day. Too bad for all of us that we now live so far apart.
Here is Lori’s Senior Photo, along with one taken when she was in college. My, she has grownup to be a real beauty.
A proud day for all, when Lori graduated from Cal State University, Hayward.
Some photos from Lori’s Wedding are shown below. This was a very happy day for all. Lori and Casey’s anniversary is very easy to remember, because it is on October 31st.
When she picked the day Georgia asked if she realized it was Halloween, which she did. I told her I was going to wear a gorilla costume to her wedding reception. I think I really had her going for a while.
This photo was taken in the house they built after moving to Redding, followed by one taken on an outing to cut a tree for Christmas. The Black Lab with the glowing eyes is Drake. He still thinks he is a puppy and is a real crack-up.
Here is Lori and Georgia somewhere on the shore of Shasta Lake. I believe we were waiting for the launch to take us across the lake to Shasta Caverns.
The final photo was taken recently at a family birthday celebration. Lori is enjoying herself as usual. She has a wonderful family and definitely makes the most out of life.
They enjoy themselves at Christmas time too.
We are fortunate to have at least one daughter living within a short driving distance. They used to live about ten minutes away, but then built a new house in the hills of Old Shasta a few years ago, which is about 30-minutes away. Consequently, we see a lot of them and are able to watch Raegan and Riley whenever we are needed or want to take them for a fun day with Grandma and Papa.

Dad, you’re making me get a big lump in my throat! Thanks for these great installments about “your girls”. I really enjoyed all of them. But you didn’t mention a very important detail…The man amongst all these women. We would not have grown up to be the women we are without the love and support of our Daddy. Thanks for being not only a good father, but a good role model. I love you!
I love you too honey. Tears are running down my cheeks right now.
mine too! Your a great father Gary and you have a wonderful family!
Thanks Angela, I am definitely blessed.
