Cell phones are a modern convenience, but a lot of people are addicted to them.
There is a law in California mandating the use of hands-free devices for cell phones while driving. If you look at drivers while on the road, it is clear that this law is being ignored by many.
The thing that gets me though, are people who yak on them constantly.
Have you ever overheard someone yammering on in his cell phone about something so pressing that it actually had to be addressed that moment right in the middle of Costco? Have you ever thought that someone was talking to you in a shopping isle, to find they were on their phone?
The most irritating though, are the loud cell phone talkers in restaurants. You know, the ones that don’t even need the phone because the person they are talking to could hear them blocks away because of the megaphone volume.
Or the emailers/texters, that just can’t put their phone down. I notices a guy while at a restaurant not long ago that completely ignored his wife/date. He spent the entire time while they waited to be served on his Blackberry. She sure looked bored.
I could make a long list, but I am sure you get the point.
